CARROL ANNANG

BOARD CHAIR

Carrol is the Board Chair for SIA. She has over 2 decades of experience in Team & Team Leadership and Board Governance. She is the current Country Director for Invest in Africa and sits on the Advisory Board of the University of Ghana. She also sits on the board of Chemu Senior High School and is a former member of the Board of Trustees of Head of State Awards Scheme. Carrol holds an MBA in Marketing from the University of Ghana.

HAMDIYA ISMAILA

BOARD MEMBER

Hamdiya Ismaila is the Founder and CEO of Savannah Impact Advisory, leveraging over 23 years of finance experience with 16 years specializing in fund of funds investing. As former General Manager of Ghana’s Venture Capital Trust Fund, she has established herself as an expert in VC/PE fund structuring and management while actively championing entrepreneurial ecosystem development across West Africa. A dedicated angel investor who founded the Lady Angel Network supporting women-led businesses, Hamdiya has spearheaded numerous impact investing initiatives, including chairing the taskforce that established Impact Investing Ghana. Her influence extends to serving on multiple boards, including the Ghana Alternative Exchange and the Investment Committee of the $200M Mastercard Africa Growth Fund. Hamdiya’s impressive educational background includes an Executive Certificate from Harvard Business School, an MPA from Columbia University, a BBA from Monroe College, and an LLB from GIMPA Law School, complemented by her recognition as a Finance Leaders Fellow with the Aspen Institute.

WENDY AMPOMAH

BOARD MEMBER

Wendy is a Senior Bank officer with an outstanding track record of excellence in client management and customer service spanning 18 years. She is the Excel Bank Manager at National Investment Bank, Ghana. She holds a master’s in public administration and an MBA Finance, both from the University of Alexandria, VA.

PATRICIA MUMUNI

BOARD MEMBER

Patricia is a local fixed income executive in the Corporate & Commercial business units in Accra, Ghana mergers and acquisitions, capital market, labour and employment, fintechs, general corporate & commercial work and corporate governance. Her experience includes advising clients on matters relating to mergers and acquisitions, labour and employment, capital markets and asset finance, anti-bribery compliance, arbitration, intellectual property, data privacy and data protection as well as general corporate and commercial law and corporate governance. Patricia is currently pursuing a Master of Laws, Information Technology, from University of Ghana.

Hannah Subayi-Kamuangah

MEMBER

Hannah is currently a Partner at Launch Africa Venture, a pan- African early-stage investor. Prior to that she was the DRC Country Officer for Proparco, one of the largest development finance institutions (DFI) in the world, promoting sustainable economic, social and environmental development for more than 45 years. In addition to her work at Launch Africa, Hannah advises a number of early-stage funds and start-ups on the continent. She serves on the investment committee of Launch Africa Ventures and advises on its Francophone African strategy. At Launch Africa, she has backed over 125 start-ups, 25% of which are female-led and 10% in Francophone Africa.  Hannah also advises at Aruwa Capital, a Nigerian private equity fund with a focus on women-owned and led companies. In 2023, Hannah was re-appointed as a non-executive director of the African Business Angel Network (ABAN), a pan-African non-profit association. At ABAN, she designed and implemented investment programs for Francophone Africa and other frontier markets.

Her career has also seen her co-found two investment clubs in Africa – Dazzle Angels, the first women-led tech club investing in female-led tech businesses, based in South Africa; and, DRC Impact Angels, the first impact investment club in the Democratic Republic of Congo. In her home country, she also launched latech243 – a collective of start-ups and tech stakeholders that is representative of the vitality of the DRC.

NANA AFOA APPIAH-KORANG

MEMBER

Nana Afoah Appiah-Korang is an experienced senior private equity executive in Africa with expertise in deal origination, execution, portfolio management, exits and fundraising. She has also served as an advisor to SMEs raising private equity capital and has entrepreneurial experience herself building a food systems platform in Nigeria. Nana has served as a Senior Consultant to the African Development Bank and Development Bank of Ghana, as Director/Senior Investment Professional of Emerging Capital Partners (ECP), one of the largest Africa-focused private equity firms with $3 billion AUM, worked as investment professional with Goldman Sachs (REPIA), real estate private equity investors and executed/exited transactions in agribusiness, financial services, oil & gas primarily in West Africa. She has significant exposure to clients and transactions across the continent, developed niche strategy to target African institutions for private equity as alternative investments, successfully closed $10 million from SSNIT (Ghana) and two $5 million tickets from Africa.  Nana has co-founded Amayi Foods Limited, an African female-led manufacturing business, and brainchild behind initial product; providing operational, strategic and fundraising direction.

Nana has extensive board/IC experience namely with the Ghana Infrastructure Investment Fund (inaugural board), Continental Reinsurance Plc and Continental Reinsurance Ltd Kenya, Oando Plc and her current board/IC appointments include Vanguard Assurance Company (Ghana), New Forests Africa Fund (Australia/Kenya), Growth Investment Partners (Ghana) and Amayi Foods Limited (Nigeria).   She also serves as non-profit Board Member to Dikan (Ghana), Imagine Worldwide (US) and Child2Child Book Foundation (US, Nigeria).

Nana holds a BA in Mathematics, Economics (minor) from Mount Holyoke College, MBA from Trium Global Executive MBA (HEC Paris, LSE, NYU), IoD Certificate in Company Direction with distinction, Diplôme d’honneur from Middlebury College L’École de Français (French Immersion). She is a Ghanaian/American citizen and has lived in Nigeria for 8 years.

GODFREY MWINDAARE

MEMBER

Godfrey is currently a Director at Gateway Investment, a multi- asset manager with over USD 3 Billion asset under management, where he leads their African Investments. Prior to that he was a Partner at Avishka, a USD$ 150 million Fund dedicated to investing in Africa. Godfrey sits on a number of Boards including serving as a member of the PIDG Ltd. Risk Committee and Board member of InfraCo Africa. Godfrey has over two decades of experience in investment banking, commercial banking and development finance. He was previously the West Africa Director of Acumen Fund Inc.  and the Chief Investment Officer at the African Development Bank. He worked as the Senior Manager in charge of Strategy and Special Projects and Head of Retail & Business Banking with the Standard Bank in South Africa and Tanzania respectively.

Godfrey started his banking career with Barclays Plc and worked as Special Personal Assistant to the MD of Barclays Ghana, Business Development Manager for Barclays Africa in the UK and Investment Banker in the Mining & Metal Department of Barclays Capital. He is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers (UK). He is a former member of the boards of the Central Bank of Ghana, Green Africa Power, Esoko Network Ltd. (Ghana), Green Energy Biofuels (Nigeria), and Farmers Hope Ltd. (Ghana). He currently serves on the boards of Tafari Capital (South Africa) and Savannah International Academy (Ghana).
