Godfrey Mwindaare is a seasoned investor with significant investing experience across Africa, spanning private equity, impact investing, and development finance across more than 40 countries on the continent.
Godfrey currently serves as Director at Gateway Investments, where he leads deal origination and execution focused on mid-market companies across Africa. Prior to this, he served as Partner at Aavishkaar Capital, one of the pioneering impact investment firms operating across frontier markets, and as Director at Acumen Fund, a global impact investment fund backing companies tackling poverty across Africa and Asia.
He previously served as Chief Investment Officer at the African Development Bank, one of the continent's foremost multilateral development finance institutions, where he oversaw the bank's investment portfolio across the region. He is also a Board Member of the Private Infrastructure Development Group (PIDG), a leading infrastructure development platform operating across Africa and Asia.
Godfrey holds an MBA from the University of Hull Business School, specialising in Financial Management, and a Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. He is an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers, UK.
